Very informative account of the collapse of the Rand during 2001.
This book not only looks at the effect this phenomenon had on our economy but also how whistleblowers who are brave enough to stand up face the responsibility of whistleblowing after the dust has settled.
Barry Sergeant is not afraid to name and shame, even going as far as to say that he’s had threats on his life. The really scary thing is that the people who are involved in these scandals are top dogs in parliament and titans of industry.
Reading the Assault on the Rand made me more aware of our economy: there is lot of money but few actually control it, going as far as to collapse entire economies in order for them to benefit .
A must read for those who want to know more about our economy and the power players behind it.
