Competition: Win One of Two PS Vita Consoles!

Were you desperate to get your hands on Sony’s latest handheld console when it launched in February, but couldn’t get your hands on one at the time? Well, all hope is not lost. have 2 brand new, sexy PS Vita consoles to give away to two very lucky winners!

All you have to do to enter is post a comment in this blog telling us which recent Playstation game is your favourite and why, and you must also include a link to your game from our website. It doesn’t have to be a PS Vita title, but make sure it is definitely a Playstation title.

We have one 3G enabled PS Vita and one Wifi enabled PS Vita to give away. For more info about the PS Vita, head over to the official PS Vita Online Manual.

The most striking thing about the Vita when you first see it is the gorgeous crisp visuals courtesy of the 5 inch, OLED screen. It really is something to behold, giving even the iPhone 4’s Retina display a run for its money. The new interface that displaces the worn (and in many ways backwards) XMB is slick, intuitive and incredibly responsive – as are its front and rear touch panels. – Lazy Gamer

So what are you waiting for? Get your entry in now! Entries close on 25 May and winners will be announced on 30 May.

Please note:
– Entries are not open to employees of Exclusive Books or Avusa, nor their families
– One entry per person

  2. Matty Wessels May 14th, 2012 at 11:28 am #

It may not be groundbreaking but the first game I played on a psp was Prince of Persia, and I still enjoy it immensely. :)

Batman Arkham City – The sequel to the award winning Arkham Asylum, this game lived up to its predecessor. It was beautiful and engaging. The gameplay was smooth and crisp. And ofcourse, everyone wishes to be a rich billionaire super hero.. Who better to play as than the Dark Knight

    My favourite game is

Being a “girl” I am not a fan of all those “real action” shooting games, and will always be a kid at heart… I adore animated movies and the games that come with them! Plus who doesn’t love the wild west??

  6. Shehan May 14th, 2012 at 11:33 am #

Batman Arkham City- The sequel to Arkham Asylum, this game was both beautiful and engaging. It lived up to its predecessor and from start till finish kept me amazed. And ofcourse, I got to play as a rich billionaire super hero..

I just managed to grab myself a copy of Rayman Origins for the PS3. I love 2D sidescrollers and the game has an amazing art direction and brilliant use of music. If I get a PSV, I’ll totally buy it again!

    Kingdoms of Amalur –

I’m a huge RPG fan, and KoA certainly delivered 😀

  10. Michael James May 14th, 2012 at 11:38 am #

Favorite PS game right now: Rugby World Cup 2011 because South Africa can actually win this time; again and again and again.
Slowly but surely the heartache of the ‘real life’ RWC 2011 starts to heal.

  11. Pieterjan May 14th, 2012 at 11:38 am #

Mass Effect 3 by far. It has the most compelling storyline of any Science Fiction game ever.

  12. Ilden May 14th, 2012 at 11:39 am #

I’d have to say Mass Effect 3 ( has to be my favourite. It brings the saga to an epic conclusion. It’s almost like gaming’s Star Wars.

  13. Teniele Siripat May 14th, 2012 at 11:40 am #

Absolutely love this game it has all my favourite cartoon characters especially The Power Puff Girls & Johnny Bravo!

  14. Raihanah Ebrahim May 14th, 2012 at 11:41 am #

Diablo III – Awesome game watched hubby playing it over the weekend very intriguing and captivating had me glued to the set for hours. Have been following the cool reviews and on Megarom facebook. Huge hit awaiting my chance to get to play – hopefully soon as it is hard to tear him away from the controls. Will be great to have my own PS vita to enjoy the game without waiting for a chance to sneak a play:) (hope this is correct)

    Duke Nukem 3D

After Doom, Castle Wolfenstein and Rise of the Triad, Duke Nukem was one of our favourite networked shoot ’em up games.

The witty dialog, slightly risque situations and action of the original meant many a teenage afternoon was spent as Duke in downtown LA battling Warthogs.
Then came the wait for the much anticipated sequel with all the rumours, imminent announcements and false hope.

And then almost 15 years later, this version was released. While perhaps not quite living up to the hype, it was a welcome return to the gaming that I had left behind.

  16. Haddy May 14th, 2012 at 11:42 am #

This is really a great game. Intrigueing and full of great new features. The fact that EA holds the official rights to the FIFA trademarks makes the game come to life with real arenas and figures there. Get the game.

  17. Jeremy Coutts May 14th, 2012 at 11:43 am #

I would absolutely love the new PS vita so that I can play the new Capcom 3 vs Marvel! But there is so much more to be done on the PS3 vita, cant wait!

  18. Ben May 14th, 2012 at 11:46 am #

Much fun playing against people from all over the world. Pity i get my butt handed to me though :p

Assassin’s Creed is my favourite for sure. I love RPG games and coupled with an action and fighting makes it a top choice for gaming on the Playstation console!

  20. Etrecia Visagie May 14th, 2012 at 11:47 am #

Call of Duty 3: Roads to Victory (PSP)
These is one of the best and last games I played in a while.
These action game is one of the best graphic that I saw on PSP.
When playing you almost feel like you are there…
The graphic is not jumpy when walking around. So no see-sickness when playing the game.

  21. Sunaina Orrie Sheikh May 14th, 2012 at 11:48 am #

Oh my word. Awesome prizes. Going to be on my knees praying to win. I would have to say Mortal Kombat. One of the all time best games to ever hit this universe.

  22. Ami May 14th, 2012 at 11:49 am #

The Mass Effect series combines the world depth of sci-fi classics like Dune with the style of cheeky dialogue and endearing personalities fans of sci-fi TV series and films know and love. The truly impressive feature of this game is in the weight of the player’s choices: consequences are long-term and potentially devastating on both personal and galactic scales.

  23. Hadlee Simons May 14th, 2012 at 11:50 am #

I really loved Rayman Origins, a refreshing change from the flood of first-person shooters we’ve been subjected to. Also, the art style is phenomenal, proving that you don’t need fancy 3D visuals to make a great-looking title.

  24. Sunaina Orrie Sheikh May 14th, 2012 at 11:52 am #

Oh my word. Awesome prizes. Going to be on my knees praying to win. I would have to say Mortal Kombat which is a new release. One of the all time best games to ever hit this universe. But I love Everbody’s golf

  25. Lauren Kruger May 14th, 2012 at 11:54 am #
I love the Final Fantasy Series, because it removes you from reality and thrusts you into an alternate universe with interesting and detailed characters, amazing scenery, battles and epic storylines. Any gamer’s dream.

  26. Niel Hoogenhout May 14th, 2012 at 11:57 am #

Batman Arkham City has been the best game I’ve played in the past year and with all the Riddler’s challenges is still keeping me entertained.

I’m a massive fan of the entire Metal Gear Solid series but if I had to choose just one game as my favorite it would be Metal Gear Solid 3. That game had everything, from awesome gameplay to unbelievable boss battles and a gripping story. Truly a legendary game which is now part of the MGS HD Collection :D!

  31. Charl Nigrini May 14th, 2012 at 12:10 pm #

Still a Soul Calibur Boy and then there’s Assassin’s Creed……! But there’s just to many amazing titles and winning the new vita would be the best thing sins sliced cheese!!!!

  32. Ernesto May 14th, 2012 at 12:16 pm #

has to be marvel vs capcom for me, I have been a gamer for many many years, and growing up playing street fighter at the corner cafe. Street fighter was the best, the game most kids grew up with!

  33. Johann May 14th, 2012 at 12:28 pm #

Dont have too many PS3 games, but so far Batman Arkham City rocks. You’re one of the coolest super heroes ever, and I get to play it in 3D! You cant get better than that 😉

  34. Samuel May 14th, 2012 at 12:28 pm #

I would have to say Prototype 2 is my favourite, I get a big Infamous vibe from it and the way you can just run up buildings make it a breeze to get around!

  35. Hendrix Winterbach May 14th, 2012 at 12:28 pm #

    Devil May Cry HD collection:

Not only did I love the Devil May Cry series on Playstation 2 but I continued to enjoy it on PS3 with the 4th entry. One could argue that why I really like it is because you get three games together, but it’s my collector’s nature that allows me to have all my Devil May Cry games on one system. A nice collection. 😀

Other than that, the Devil May Cry series introduced us to fantastic control schemes which followed up with a stylized fighting system more commonly found in recent titles. It introduced us to some of the largest worlds and bosses, including lovable yet flawed characters. And they said devils never cry.

  36. Nadia van Dyk May 14th, 2012 at 12:32 pm #

Playstation 2 Transformers Revenge of the Fallen is definitely my son’s favorite game and if mommy gets to play with him she enjoys fighting the evil decepticons! (evil grin) So seeing that we only have the PS2 we definitely can do with the cool on the go PS Vita Console to enjoy playing games where ever we are!!!

  37. Henré Botha May 14th, 2012 at 12:40 pm #

The Mass Effect series is probably one of the most important titles of the past decade, and Mass Effect 3 elevates the series to even greater heights than before. The effects of choices I’ve made in the first game snowball all the way to the third, making me feel like I really *am* in control – and responsible for the fate of the universe.

  38. Cherezaan Ryklief May 14th, 2012 at 12:45 pm #

    The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim!!!!!

Best game yet. Its been an amazing journey playing this game. I recommend this game to everybody.

  39. Deagan Halls May 14th, 2012 at 12:49 pm #

  41. Anthea Brinkman May 14th, 2012 at 1:07 pm #

Its got to be Rayman Origins

My son absolutely loves it. Its hard to find games for the below 15 age group and its it great when you do come across one like this.

  42. Dawn Adam May 14th, 2012 at 1:15 pm #

Don’t have a favourite game yet as we don’t have a console but world building, fantasy and epic journeys of discovery would be our choice

  43. Smit Snyman May 14th, 2012 at 1:27 pm #

    Infamous 2.
It’s the best 3rd person open world game available on the PS3

  44. Nicola Meyer May 14th, 2012 at 1:28 pm #

My sons favourite series at the moment is Assassins Creed

  45. Gian-Paolo Buffo May 14th, 2012 at 1:40 pm #

The award for my favourite Playstation game of all time goes to … Mass Effect 3! I’ve played the series since the very beginning and have, admittedly, spent more time than is healthy exploring the rich world of Mass Effect. “Brilliant” would be an understatement if I had to describe Mass Effect 3: a marvel of modern videogames. It’s amazing how Bioware managed to create a world with such scale while managing to tie everything together beautifully across all 3 games. :’)

  46. Nikky Olivier May 14th, 2012 at 1:41 pm #

Heavy rain is my favorite Ps game to date – the fact that you decide the outcome through your actions means it’s possible to play it over and over again without becoming predictable or boring.

  47. Johann Smith May 14th, 2012 at 2:35 pm #

FIFA 12, there is no other, well maybe FIFA 13 coming out next,

  49. Conroy Schultz May 14th, 2012 at 3:16 pm #

Call of Duty MW3, must be the most fun and intense online game I’ve ever played.

  50. Grant Littlefield May 14th, 2012 at 4:28 pm #

Rayman Origins. An amazing game. I’ve loved all rayman games and this one is no different. Just shows that great games don’t necessarily have to have amazing graphics or use pure 3d effects. Loved origins and can’t wait for more great games. 😀

My favourite game is Sonic Generations. I’ve always loved Sonic!

  54. Hendrik Maartens May 14th, 2012 at 7:03 pm #

My favourite game is Elder Scrolls: Skyrim.

I’ve been a huge Elder Scrolls fan since the release of Daggerfall and the games have been improving (much to my surprise) every time. Other reasons why I loved this game was the open world that allowed quite a bit of freedom to pursue your own goals instead of being locked into a single path. The scenery and music was also amazing! There were many moments where I thought I should take my camera to preserve the moment! (Fortunately the game has a screenshot function for this very reason)

One of my favourites and one of my favourite series.

  55. Lynton May 15th, 2012 at 8:30 am #

Call of Duty is my all time favourite FPS genre for PS. Love this game!

  56. Craig May 15th, 2012 at 8:33 am #

Current favourite PS3 title: Dark Souls

Why: Because it’s the hardest game I have ever played and if it’s not challenging, why are you playing?

  57. Gavin May 15th, 2012 at 8:34 am #

WipeOut 2048 – Been a WipeOut fan for years since the first one came out on the very first Playstation grey console. Love the speed and the futuristic theme.

  58. Geoffrey Stokker May 15th, 2012 at 8:36 am #

Favourite recent game definitely has to be Resistance 3. I’ve always been a fan of the old World War 2 movies where soldiers go “behind enemy lines” to join the resistance to fight against the occupiers.

Resistance 3 combines that sort of feel with the resistance feel of those kind of movies and stories with science fiction elements.

My favourite 😀 DUKE NUKEM FOREVER With hours and hours of over-the-top single player action, and a range of bodacious multiplayer modes, rest assured knowing the fun will last. Duke Nukem was and will forever be a gaming icon, and this is his legend.

  67. Motheo Moleko May 15th, 2012 at 9:01 am #

Mass Effect 3 by a country mile. It’s never the case you invest over 100 hours of your life over a video game franchise, but that’s exactly why I did with Mass Effect, from the first through the third. Remarkable video game with a remarkable narrative.

  68. Achmat Samsodien May 15th, 2012 at 9:01 am #

Dark Souls, it has the sweet satisfaction of you becoming a better player through you constantly dying and learning from it. Definitely the most rewarding game out there and a must have for masochists and RPG lovers out there.

  69. Mohammed Rashid May 15th, 2012 at 9:03 am #

Batman growing up has traditionally been one of the coolest superheroes. With the fancy gizmos and gadgets its always every kid(big or small) ideal superhero.

  70. Ben Kelly May 15th, 2012 at 9:04 am #

Skyrim, this game is so huge that you almost never need to play another game.

Unless you get an arrow to the knee.

Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai. I used to watch the series everyday after school. It was a ritual. I remember Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Bulma, as well as the villans Cell, Garlic Jr, Margin Boo, Frieza and all the Androids. Was the best!

  73. Rory May 15th, 2012 at 9:12 am #

My current fave at the moment is most definitely Sonic Generations.

Over the decades Sonic has been enticing us with his nimble footwork and death defying moves. This is a modern take on a cult classic. Not only for nostalgic 80s and 90s gamers this new version really kicks butt!

  74. Zainab Mowzer May 15th, 2012 at 9:18 am #

    Best game I have played!!!!!!!!:)))))

  75. Lily Rose May 15th, 2012 at 9:23 am #

My favourite game is Final Fantasy III-2. The graphics are amazing and the game truly sweeps you away into a thoroughly detailed fantasy world. Accompanied by a good story line and player challenges, it is a visual feast and a delight to play!

  76. Trevor Hansen May 15th, 2012 at 9:34 am #

Without a doubt it has to be Mass Effect 3, Best gameplay, Best story and one of the few games that actually made me play through the game 3 times 😀 Thats how EPIC it was!!! Nerd I am, and proud of it 😀

  77. Busisiwe May 15th, 2012 at 9:37 am #

My nephew’s favourite game is Dragonball Z, just to name one. It entertains his for hours when I’m baby sitting, which means I have time to get on with my business

Would have to be Calld of Duty MW3, Great single player and EPIC multiplayer battles

  79. firoze May 15th, 2012 at 9:47 am #

The different enemies and awesome graphics make this game a winner. If you haven’t played Infamous this will certainly make you want to go out and get it.

  80. prawn1 May 15th, 2012 at 10:10 am #

From the get go, I’ve been enamoured with the Uncharted series. I have simple tastes and Uncharted combines all the elements that I want from a video game: a good narrative, punny dialog, explosive set pieces, and a wise cracking hero who always gets the ladies.

“Uncharted 2: Among Thieves” is my favourite PS3 game.

  81. Jared May 15th, 2012 at 10:40 am #

    Batman Arkham City!

    Reason: I am Batman.

It’s not easy being the bat but I like to replay what I have done in Arkham City – I learn from my mistakes and improve on my bat skills. I fight for justice and Arkham’s safety every night.

  82. Zeenat Ebrahim May 15th, 2012 at 10:43 am #

  83. Mujeeb Lambarey May 15th, 2012 at 10:54 am #

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Everyday during office hours I am a slave to “The Man”. I do what I’m told when I’m told. After work it’s a different story. I get to go online and de-stress by destroying those that oppose me and my authority!

  84. Zaid Ebrahim May 15th, 2012 at 11:24 am #

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time – must have!

  85. Malu May 15th, 2012 at 12:23 pm #

Devil-May-Cry Especially the 3rd one, I love how the story unfolds. Last battle was awesome I like the part where you change between Vigil and Dante.

  88. Rob Roux May 15th, 2012 at 12:25 pm #

Dark Souls without a shadow of a doubt. A game like this only comes around once in a blue moon. Its beautiful and pretty much the best thing since Uncharted.

Little Big Planet 2. Amazing levels, interesting puzzles, lots of challenges, never mind the hours you can spend creating your own levels and playing with the level creator. Little Big Planet 2 added a lot into the world missing from Little Big Planet 1. There is also the massive online community, where you get to experience all the creativity and imagination of other players. Also the little things that make it good, like Stephen Fry as the narrator.

  91. Kevin De Jong May 15th, 2012 at 12:30 pm #

Got to be Max Payne 3.

Looking so forward to this game and its getting good reviews on metacritic. The Max Payne series has been one of my favourites.

  92. Brendon Bosch May 15th, 2012 at 12:30 pm #

My top game is Dark Souls. Reason why i love it is because i have always wanted to play a dark and moody medieval game that makes you feel like there is no hope. The fighting mechanics is so versatile and realistic that you cant help but want to try out everything. I have never experienced a game that puts so much strain on your mind like this one does and also it`s the most rewarding game i have ever played. Everyone i speak to about it always ends up wanting to get it for themselves and so far i have convinced a handful of people to get it. Why do i market this game so much because i want a sequel to it so i can feel what i felt in this game again.

  93. Jo Spies May 15th, 2012 at 12:32 pm #

    Favourite game…. Fallout New Vegas.

The Fallout franchise has continually managed to integrate great story telling with a superb sense of an open world. And with the amount of game hours that you get, they are always the best bag for your buck.

Wipeout – any of them. I’ve never owned a Playstation but I used to be seriously addicted to these games, playing them at a friends house as a kid. High speed and mad weapons, what more could one want?

Sonic Generations! It’s the only new-ish Sonic game that doesn’t suck! It has everything that made the mega drive games a classic and with even better gfx!

  98. Andrew May 15th, 2012 at 12:39 pm #

I must say at this point in time I am loving Rayman Origins – Super fun 2D game that blows mine and yes my friends and relatives mind. You first think like “Ehhhhhh I’ll give it ago”. 20 minutes later you yelling “Mom! Bring the mop. My brain just got blown” and bring another mop for my friends brain. Really awesome co – op game! Really recommend it!

My favourite Playstation game would have to be Duke Nukem Forever.

I was a big Duke Nukem fan back in the days before I had my own gaming system or even a computer. I enjoyed playing or even watching Duke Nukem because of his comical comments and explosive action packed blasting of alien scum!

Duke Nukem Forever is even better! Better graphics, bigger guns and as always, awesome catchphrases!

    I highly recommend this game!!!

Dark Souls, no question. Challenging, rewarding, simple but compelling story, deep gameplay, beautiful gothic design, perfect length.
Only game in recent memory that I loved from start to finish and felt drawn to play more than once.

    Little. Big. Planet……..

Completely and utterly mad fun, anyone who’s played the bouncing stage with 3 mates will testify to that! Or frying nuclear marshmallows before they flatten you, bugger realism, I want a power-up spewing helmet to wear to work!

Infamous 2 for me it was a great sequal from Infamous 1 and making good or bad decisions was all up to you and for anyone that owns a PS3 i reccomend this game to you.

I would definately have to say Mass Effect 3, the story completes the series. It adds a very emotional attachment to the lead character. The ending is hectic.

Infamous 2. Just love this sandbox game. Only on PS3!!

Mass Effect 3 – Excellent story-line and game play that builds on very well from the previous titles in the series

First PS3 game I finished after converting to the XBox was Deus Ex, Human Revolution. Had great fun getting used to the PS3 controls and have to admit the game itself, although it had a questionable ending, was interesting and challenging.

Rayman: Origins! What a fun platformer, and looks gorgeous on the PS Vita:

Definitely Rayman Origins, takes me back to my childhood!

  117. Prince May 15th, 2012 at 1:06 pm #

Without a doubt – it’s Drake, Elena, Sully, Chloe, Cutter. It’s crazy, jaw-dropping set pieces, beautiful locations, great adventure, captivating story, eye-popping visuals. It’s romance, humour, pain, thriller, suspense, adrenaline, all in one. It’s Indiana Jones, only cooler. It’s a marvel of modern-day interactive entertainment and a very good reason to own a PS.

    It’s Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception!

  118. Wayne May 15th, 2012 at 1:07 pm # It was a lot of fun on the PS3 so I’m sure it’s fun on the PS Vita as well!

Mass Effect 3 – This is by far the most important sci-fi franchise of this generation, and the games are an incredible way to get the ball rolling for what will hopefully be the Star Wars of the coming generation:

Rayman Origins for the PS Vita :) It’s been a long time since I played a platformer as good as this one. It’s just so much fun to play. And if you can play it more someone else it makes it ten times more fun coz of all the times you end up dying while having to work together to overcome obstacles. LOL

  124. Andrea May 15th, 2012 at 1:19 pm #

Prince Of Persia. Love the setting of the game and the character. Its at times challening but is always fun.

Feeling a little sentimental here but It has been 8 years since I’ve purchased this colossal title and even though I have sinced owned a PS3,PSP and XBOX360 and played an assortment of titles on each. I have still yet to come across a title that can compare to GrandTheftAuto:San Andreas on the Playstation 2.

It is still rated as number one on the list of top games I have ever played. Playing out like a John Singleton movie on steroids. I still have the original copy with map although the game is scratched beyond compare and is unplayable due to the numerous times having popped it in and enjoyed countless hours of nonstop RPG rampaging and excessive over the top violence, excitement and joy!

Here is hoping that Rockstar releases this in future as some kind of DLC on the PlayStation Vita as it truly is a remarkable title which had a huge impact on my gaming lifestyle while I was young –

Thanks Exclus1ves for the chance to win this awesome console!

  132. Mduduzi May 15th, 2012 at 1:41 pm #

A lot of people think this game sucks but I cant stop playing it. Dynasty warriors 7 has to be one of my most favorite games on the PS3. Addictive if you want a simple but great hack and slash with a little overly sensationalized history lesson.

Battlefield 3 – because its a welcome change of gameplay compared to modern warfare 3 which has no vehicles, no destruction, small maps, have to pay for all new maps, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc……………………………………….multiplayer matches are very short ………………………..and because exclusive is the best.

My current favorite on PS3 is Prototype 2:

The game boasts some pretty decent graphics, bundled together with an open world environment. The game is pure adrenaline filled carnage! The story line isnt too bad either 😉

My actual favourite PlayStation game is SSX3 but since we’re restricted to the best PS game we’ve played recently, I’m going to definitely go with … Mass Effect 3. Saints Row: The Third comes in second. :)

    Infamous 2

Your a guy with lightning powers and can pick between being a villain or hero in an open world environment, who wouldnt enjoy that.

    Little Big Planet 2

What’s not to like about LBP2… It’s innovative and has thousands of player created levels. You can also create your own levels and customize your Sackboy. LBP2 is my current favourite as there is so much to do in the game and the move pack has added to the replay ability.

Dark Souls. I love this game. Why do I love the game? I have no @#%&^# idea! It definitely doesn’t love me back. I’ve been eaten, impaled, poisoned, burned, crushed, bitten, thrown, shot, split, and felled by an immune system infection. Ok that last one is a lie, but I’ve died just about every way an imaginative game developer can dream up, but I just can’t stop playing!
    Curse you Dark Souls!
    *boots up ps3*

  157. Werner May 15th, 2012 at 5:01 pm #

Oooo so many comments. And yet I have to agree with so many others. Favourite game: Batman – Arkham City, the game mechanics and story is just sooooo awesome.

  158. Raven Swart May 15th, 2012 at 5:04 pm #

Let’s face it, super hero games are hard to pull off. Before Arkham Asylum came along though, the best example of a superhero game done right (make that excellently) was inFAMOUS. It was great, so great it earned a sequal that improved nearly everything of the last game whilst adding a cinematic edge that rivals Uncharteds best moments.

The powers feel powerful, the free running is more frenetic and more FREE than ever and the level of detail in the environment as the electric violence jumps from your finger tips tears it apart will send thrills through you like a dozen Gigawatts. On top of all that, you have a solid, mysterious storyline that builds on the characters and lines from the previous title and has key decisions that have ramifications throughout your play through. Be a hero, or be an infamous and ruthless god of thunder. The choice is yours! Hands down my favourite ps game in recent memory! 😀

  159. Danny VT May 15th, 2012 at 5:04 pm #

It has to be Skyrim. RPG at its best and you can spend hours exploring.

  164. Nadine Franzsen May 15th, 2012 at 6:09 pm #

At the moment my favourite PS3 game is Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. This game has really surprised me, although the story is not the best out of the bunch, the gameplay and combat specifically is what has me hooked. I’ve played this for over 40 hours now and I still cant get enough. The environments are beautiful, and the fantasy world very immersive.

Being able to change my abilities even after I’ve completed the game keeps the gameplay fresh and those “Oh yeah!!” moments keep coming.

There’s just something about teamwork + puzzles that makes a perfect combination of having little sack men running around trying to save a little sack world.

The game that springs to mind as my favourite recent game on the PS3 would definitely have to be Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

The game kept me busy for well over 100 hours, and even enticed me (a self confessed n00b) to platinum it. From the wide open world to the well written dialogue to the awesome characters, the game just had everything I wanted out of an action rpg.

Skyrim, still. Best RPG on the PS3. Epic game play, I never liked any of the previous games. They just made a truly brilliant game in most aspects. I had HOURS of being lost in gaming, first time in ages.

  188. Annatjie Kruger May 16th, 2012 at 7:05 am #

My favourite is Rayman Origins – the best platformer I’ve played in years. It’s sometimes very frustrating to do a level over and over in order to get all the secrets and “lums”, but this is one game where I don’t mind being frustrated a little. I love the beautiful backgrounds and the wacky characters and can spend hours jumping and gliding away. It’s become an addiction. :)

At the moment I have it on PS3, but with a PS Vita I’ll be able to carry the addiction around with me and sneak a little playtime during the day.

FIFA 12 – after years of trying to catch up to pro evo, it eventually did. Then took pro evo outside, pushed it into the mud, then called it girly names.

Favourite Playstation game: Final Fantasy XIII-2
I’m addicted to the whole series mainly because of its awesome graphics.
Religiously played part 1 of this 13th installment, and I’d been highly anticipating part 2. Serah is such a beautiful character!
Again, the series never fails to disappoint! I also particularly love the soundtracks!

Ooooooo…. I think no one can argue that the best PS Title of the year was definitely The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The main quest has a great storyline. The game gives you the freedom to play it the way you like, for example the option to chop wood, make some delicious food, mine for minerals, making your own weapons and armor. This was definitely the best recent game on the PS that I enjoyed the most. So for all you gaming freaks, Go and grab your copy of Skyrim today!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!

I wanted to say Armored Core 5
Cuz I’ve been a fan since the PS1 days … but you guys don’t have it.
So I decided to settle for Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3

This is my disjointed face :(

Gundam is awesome fun … But I like Armored Core WAY more.

So reason I’m choosing Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 …
Is because you guys don’t stock Armored Core 5

So you see all those slightly overweight guys that plays games but you never see them in a gym. Its imply cause gym’s were built for skinny athletic guys. Have you seen the size of that seat of the bikes, I mean my arse will look like a mushroom peeling over it. Not a pleasant site, and then there are those other torture devices for which you need an engineering degree to figure out and after 30 minutes of exercising my arms on it with lots of encouragement and stares for the jocks I saw the guy getting on it and exercising his legs. Mayor loss of my man-card on that one! Do not even forget that all the terms like gluts, lats, and triceps. I mean I am not great with geography by lats is some circle around the earth and a tricep is that thing you look at the stars to find the correct lat. Is it not?

Yet I found the perfect solution, EA Sports Active 2 for PS3 now takes all of the embarrassment with a personal trainer right into my own home, in front of my TV. Now my 6 year old is howing me how unfit I really am. I have learned that calories is not only on a back of packet of chips and that 20 min of training is the same as a McDonald Oreo Crush ice-cream. All is not lot, the personal trainer is a woman that loves me, even when I am horrible and courages me. I have made great progress and can now tie one shoe without have to come up for breath. My goal weight is to tie two shoes.
For that very reason I would certainly recommend the PS3 Active 2 by Exlus1ve!

All of this typing made me tired now. Can i Please have the Vista so that I can remote play with the PS3 in bed!

I would have to go with Uncharted 3. This game is beyond anything I have ever seen or played before. It’s better than most movies out there and the attention to detail on this game is incredible.

With the Game of the Year Edition coming out soon, there is no reason not to pick up this game. It includes every piece of DLC and the multiplayer is very addictive.

    Nathan Drake, I thank you.

Now only if I had a PS Vita to play Uncharted Golden Abyss on 😉

My favourite recent Playstation game would have to be: Silent Hill HD Collection

The original Silent Hill’s were amazing and the fact that they rendered it in high-definition, is just too good to be true!
Good old fashion interesting story line, scary yourself silly monsters and now good graphics!! That is just win, win, win!
I was very happy with this announcement!

  240. Sandro Viljoen May 18th, 2012 at 2:01 pm #

Definitely the Silent Hill HD Collection

Silent Hill has been one of the best horror games ever made. The fact that they remade Silent Hill 2 and 3 in this HD Collection shows that people love the story line and scariness of Silent Hill but with today’s day and age of amazing graphic games, Konami needed to put Silent Hill back out there but with great graphic.
All die heart Silent Hill fans will be as thrilled as I am with this HD Collection. Even if they’ve played the original ones, they’d definitely want to play these too!

  241. Ona Botha May 18th, 2012 at 2:04 pm #

For me it was Aragorn’s Quest. After reading Lord of the Rings, I often wondered what Aragorn was like before he became part of the fellowship. Very little is known about this famed Ranger and in some ways this game cleared it up for me. The graphics are really good and it brings across a different perspective on the Lord of the Rings trilogy. A buy well worth the money.

Borderlands. It has an endless amount of fun and everytime I play the game it is different; the action and weapons are always different everytime I play it from the beginning and trust me, I’ve played it over thrice now.
Also Littel Big Planet. It is completely addictive and I always have a fun time playing it with a friend or family member.

The most recent Playsation game in my collection is Max Payne 3 and until further notice, it’s my favourite games and simply one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of ever playing. But why is that you ask?

I first played Max Payne 2 a number of years ago on a friend’s PC. I saw him playing this game where the protagonist was jumping around in slow motion and shooting people in an awesomely stylish way and after some time watching him silently, he gave me a crack at it and though I sucked (him being so far in the game and me not knowing anything), I wanted more; I got my taste. I immediately scoured my city looking for the game, but alas, it could not be found. It was a quite a few months later while idly browsing a second-hand store’s selection that I found it for PS2 and after some begging from my mom, I got a min-loan from her to buy it. When I finally started playing properly, my expectations were not only met, but surpassed. I was blown away not only by the marvelous gameplay, but the astoundingly deep and tragic story too. It was the first game where I truly cared for the character and felt connected. After that, I found and ordered the first game and it too blew me away. The game felt more like an interactive graphic novel than game and that was just too “cool” back then.

Today, I got my copy of the 3rd installment and the excitement I had while waiting for it to release was too high. I was counting down the hours and seconds until I was reunited with Max. That’s how good the past two games were; they drew you in and they drew you in deep. Waiting for the game to come was like waiting for that favourite uncle to arrive and tell you some epic stories that you’ll never forget and that is exactly what happened today. When I started with 3, I simply smiled and thought “What did they do to you, old friend?” I couldn’t wait to unravel the story and even though I’ve been playing for just over 5 hours, the game is just plain amazing. The gameplay is again awesome (far surpassing the previous games in the series), the story is intriguing and it’s so immersive and addictive, I just didn’t want to stop playing, but I eventually I pried myself away from it.

The Max Payne series is beautifully mature and quite frankly, it’s a piece of art. The writing is superb and some people argue games are not deep or such, but I’m a proper gamer and I can give you a very detailed and supported argument to that. One piece of evidence I’m bringing to the table is Mr. Payne over here. There are many games that have the qualities of Max Payne 3, but this game is just unique. I love the fact that the characters are so deep and the game in total is such a brilliantly delivered package.

My favourite game at the moment is Dark Souls. It provides a challenge like no other, and the sense of achievement and relief you feel when finding a bonfire, or beating a boss, has been matched by few games before it, or since it’s release last year. I also love the dark atmosphere it creates through its environments and enemies.

MK is by far the best game! Growing up as a kid playing the older versions of MK either at home or at the arcade it was always awesome! Nothing is more satisfying in gaming then playing your mate in a grueling match up and then ending him off with a FATALITY!

One of the best games ever has to be The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim! You can be who ever you want to be and do what you want! Which is a lot more that in real life. Since I got my collectors copy of Skyrim I cant put it down! Every time you do a new play through you discover something new. And the graphics are amazing!! Sure it has a few bugs. But every great game does!! I have been a huge fan since Daggerfall and I am so excited for The Elder Scrolls online. Even is it is a bit far away. Skyrim FTW!!!

My favouritest game in the whole wide world is the elders scrolls five, skyrim by bethesda softworks, played on my playstation three by sony computer entertainment incorporated.

I love this game, sometimes I put the disc on my nipple and spin it around, while yelling “oh emperor titus mede the second, oh emperor titus mede the second,oh emperor titus mede the second…” over and over again… until I cannot contain it anymore… and quickly rush over to my playstation, lean over and put the disc back in the drive so that I can continue playing. You should try it, its the most fun I’ve ever had besides playing the elders scrolls five, skyrim by bethesda softworks, played on my playstation three by sony computer entertainment incorporated.

Please deliver my vita soon as apparently they are releasing a patch so that, it can be used as a rear view mirror for my horse in the elders scrolls five, skyrim by bethesda softworks. If I’m blazing really fast on my horse I want to be able to see any flowers that I may miss in my rear view mirror.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is definitely my favourite game of all time. I’ve always been an obsessed fan of the the Harry Potter franchise and this game takes my obsession to a whole new level. Why?? Because even though i’m a Harry Potter fan, it’s Ron that holds the charm, and being able to play with him as a character is awesome. Also, I love that the ability to apparate has been worked into this game, a concept I’ve always been envious of =)

    The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition

After completing the game a week ago. I found the game very exhilarating and has made a impact on me that will stay exceptionally long. Games which are created recently are all top-notch with some exceptions but somehow, most feels incomplete.

The Witcher 2 is a very welcoming game to various audience within the age restrictions. Even though I was new to the Witcher series, the gameplay was made easy enough for me to feel comfortable and accustomed during the tutorial session. The game still continuously guides you with little hints so you wont feel as if you are roaming around carelessly & aimlessly.

The graphics of the game is astonishing! My setting were automatically set on low for most categories due to my hardware limitations. Now imagination should be coursing through your head as you try to wrap around how much better the game would be in “high” settings.

Voice, background and environmental sound, music and sound track were all very well composed. Sometimes I would hope that the load screen would extend longer as the sound track make you well entranced. Most music that are composed, sounds great but not yet complete. What I mean by “complete” is that the music fills your soul with incredible emotions, this is what make The Witcher 2 soundtrack brilliant.

Even if most replies are not being read. I would still recommend The Witcher 2 to anyone. Thank you for your time and I hope everyone luck in this competition.

Little Big Planet, because it is one of the greatest games I ever played with my friends (and finished) and I rate it even higher than Mine Craft.

    So…So difficult to choose o_O

I’d have to go for inFAMOUS 2 – the first game wasn’t perfect, but the second one just took everything and made it better. Fantastic bloody game!!

Uncharted 3 (as well as UC 1 and 2) are the best games I’ve played on the PS3. There are big budget hollywood movies out there that don’t hold a candle to these cinematic masterpieces

Growing up i spent hours upon hours in a Café down the street from my house playing Mortal Kombat 2! Spending every 50c coin I could get my hands on! So needless to say, Mortal Kombat 9 was quite a treat! 😀

My Favourite game is FIFA 12, because besides being the best of the Football games for playstation, the online play is great entertainment. And you have the chance to win a trophy, when you real team doesn’t!

My current favourite is Mass Effect 2 (I’m saving for Mass Effect 3)
The story line is superb. Never before have I been so absorbed in a game where I choose the future of my character. I’ve been playing the game over and over again and I keep on coming back for more.

It’s gotta be Batman, Arkham City
The gameplay is great. It’s looks terrific. The story is cool and the characters and brilliantly done. The fact that the actor for Batman and Joker are the same as from the tv series makes it so worthwhile! Love the game!

Guys It must just be Skyrim! It is my childhood all over again! Sword in hand screaming random things at dragons(often the poor dog as I child) and conquering lands and foe’s alike! Always loved the elder scrolls series and this one just fit in so cool with my always childlike(not childish) imagination! I am the Dovakiin !

    PROTOTYPE 2!!!

I usually don’t look forward to sequels cause most of them end up ruining your love for the franchise but dudes and dudettes this is truly a must have for everyone with a ps3, the story line has just gotten a whole lot more interesting and the powers are even more epic! I also love playing with Sgt. James his really awesome!!! It’s just a shame that I can only play it when I go visit my friend cause I don’t own it or a ps3 myself. For those who do, go get it NOW!!!

  333. Yusuf Ahmed May 23rd, 2012 at 12:49 pm #

Jeez! With so many games that i’ve played through my childhood, my favourite game has got to be the original Mortal Kombat that i’ve mastered on Playstation1.

Unfortunately there seems to be no link to this game on your site, but i managed to get a link to Mortal Kombat 9 which i truly enjoy as well due to the 3D effects and upgraded graphics etc –

I use to play this game for hours when I was younger back on those 8bit TV games, then on my first playstation, then on my first PC. It really is one of the best of all time!

I so badly would love to top this Mortal Kombat Experience with a PS Vita!

  338. Mark Botha May 24th, 2012 at 12:23 pm #

My favourite PlayStation game is InFamous 2. It gets super-powered open-world action right in a way that no other game has managed.

  339. Gerlu de Bruin May 24th, 2012 at 7:42 pm #

It has to be Max Payne 3! I’ve heard so many great things about it and I’m saving up to buy it; but how awesome would you be if I won it!!

Long time Playstation fan here, I saved up and brought the first generation of PSP when it was released, I still have it to this day! My favorite game would have to be Assassin’s Creed: Bloodlines. It may not be the longest game, but the way that they managed to scale everything down for PSP and still keep a totally immersive and fun experience was utterly amazing!

  344. Kaven May 25th, 2012 at 2:28 pm #

oops, seems like i forgot that The Witcher 2 is not part of a Sony game.

In that case, Batman Arkham City

  345. Lyle Arends May 30th, 2012 at 6:20 am #

    So who won?

  346. Steve Roberts May 30th, 2012 at 10:27 am #

On the front page it says Erina and Wesley but i read on twitter that one person did not qualify to win. Something to do with Erina that did no say why the game is her favourite. Oh well, i guess I should have entered if i wanted to win. lol
